At Siege Studios, every model is carefully built, cleaned and prepared before it reaches the painting stage. We take the time to remove mould lines, clean up joins, address gaps and ensure components are correctly assembled, creating a clean and consistent foundation for the work that follows.
From straightforward assembly to more involved preparation and construction, every stage is carried out with the same attention to detail and professional standard we apply to our painting.

EXPERT PREPARATION. A CLEAN FOUNDATION.
Our building and cleaning service is designed to give every miniature the clean, consistent foundation required for a professional painted finish.
All mould lines and sprue joins are carefully removed, with affected areas smoothed and cleaned to ensure the surface is ready for painting. Where appropriate, weapon barrels are also drilled to add depth and realism to the finished miniature.
Building and cleaning is available across all of our painting levels, allowing every commission to benefit from the same thorough preparation regardless of the painting level selected.
YOUR MODELS, YOUR CHOICE
You are also welcome to build and clean your own models before sending them to us. However, any client-built models must meet our studio building and cleaning standards in full before they can enter the painting process.
These requirements are provided with your initial quote and again before you send your models, giving you clear guidance on exactly how your miniatures need to be prepared.
Our standards are not optional. They exist to ensure every model entering the studio meets the level of preparation required for our painting process and the finished Siege Studios result.
If your models arrive and do not meet these requirements, we will contact you before work begins. Where possible, we can arrange for the additional building and cleaning work to be completed by our team at the applicable charge.
If the required preparation cannot be agreed, the models may need to be returned and the commission cancelled in accordance with our terms.
