Are you a veteran of the hobby who remembers the red years and the unmistakable energy of second edition, or are you newer to Warhammer 40,000 and seeing the Armageddon artwork for 11th edition with its powerful nods to that classic box art?

There is something special about seeing these two pieces side by side. One defined an era and pulled so many of us into the hobby for the first time.

The other carries that legacy forward while reigniting the same sense of scale, chaos and heroism that made us fall in love with Warhammer in the first place.

It feels like a full circle moment. Whether you were there in the beginning or you are just stepping onto the battlefield now, this is an incredibly exciting time for Warhammer 40,000, for the hobby, and for our community.

🩸So which artwork speaks to you more? The classic or the modern take?

When and how did you get into Warhammer? Tell us how you started in the comments.

A Death Watch Blood Angels Captain from an army phase that we have completed with an awesome alien world basing scheme.

The black armour gives a cold and merciless vibe to the miniature and contrasts well to all of the warmer richer colours.

Using some complimentary and harmonious colours on the basing look great and add a nice visual interest to the piece.

Sigismund, First Captain of the Imperial Fists, seen from every angle.

This reel’s all about the presence. A slow 360 to take in that uncompromising silhouette, then pushing in close to the details, the richness of that defiant yellow, the scarring on the steel, and the story told across the base beneath his feet.

Every surface here was about contrast, not just colour, but character. Clean, almost radiant armour against the wear of endless war. He’s not standing still, he’s advancing. Always advancing.

In the lore, Sigismund becomes something more than a Space Marine during the Horus Heresy, a figure of absolute conviction.

By the time of the Siege of Terra, he isn’t just leading from the front, he is the blade, a duelist without equal, cutting a path through the enemies of the Emperor.

Wanted that to come through in motion here, not just a model, but a presence you can follow as it turns. No hesitation. No fear. Just purpose.

Keen to hear your thoughts, especially on how the yellow reads in motion and the close-up weathering.

An awesome loyalist Thousand Sons Terminator Librarian painted in a candy red metallic scheme that nods back to the pre-heresy thousand sons Legion colours.

This awesome character is part of our clients commission for their head cannon loyalist force made up of Astartes from fallen legions that did not fall to Chaos.

We loved our clients choice of the use of the blue green accent colour for all the psychic energy ruins across his armour and his force axe.

Finished off with a snow base that gives a cold merciless environment that contrasts in temperature to the warm armour tones.

An awesome 360 of a Custom Service Night Lords character which has been really fun to create.

Our client wanted a Night Lords themed Angron to go with their Night Lords army!

It was great to add the iconic midnight blue armour tone and freehanded lighting across it.

Having the bone parts on the wings painted a neutral tone to contrast the rich crimson wings was a really great choice from our client.

This awesome one off bespoke character commission is a great example of what can be done to bring a miniature in line with the rest of your army aesthetically so a force looks consistent!

It has been great to see him come to life from conversion to sculpt to paint, we hope you like him too!

Ave Dominus Nox! (Blood for the Blood God
edition)

Some White Scars Assault Intercessors from a completed ay phase commission that we have loved painting!

The crisp and clean white armour is always fun to bring to life and adding the freehand tribal markings is always a nice touch.

The hot temperature of the red accents on the miniatures work really well the cold contrasting weapon cases marry to the cool armour tones.

⚡What is your favourite Space Marine Chapter and why?
