After a five-year break, IronSkull returned in style — and what a comeback it was!
The first IronSkull was held in London back in 2020, and since then, the community, the standard of painting, and the hobby itself have evolved in incredible ways. We’re thrilled to say that the 2025 event not only lived up to the legacy — it blew past it.
Hosted at the Brentwood Centre, Essex, on Saturday 7th of June, IronSkull 2025 was a true celebration of miniature art, with hundreds of entries, passionate attendees, and an electric atmosphere from start to finish.
IronSkull 2025 in Numbers
This year was our biggest event to date, with amazing figures to match:
- 884 unique attendees
- 533 competition entries across 12 categories
- 36 winners crowned and a new IronSkull winner!
- 40 traders exhibiting across Warboot
- 14 industry leading retailers
- A one-day explosion of hobby energy, artistic talent, and miniature painting community.
The Competition – A Showcase of Unbelievable Talent
At the heart of IronSkull is the painting competition — and this year, the standard reached new heights. We saw everything from gorgeously subtle busts to epic fantasy duels, atmospheric dioramas, and clean, precise single miniatures.
Every single piece told a story — and the effort, passion, and skill on display was nothing short of inspiring.
Best in Show 2025
This year’s coveted Best in Show award went to an outstanding piece in the Fantasy Single Miniature category. A perfect blend of technical execution and narrative impact, it wowed all four of our judges and stood out as a true masterwork. Congratulations to Nikolas Rubens Mortensen on winning the IronSkull!
Retailers – A Hobbyist’s Dream Market
We were proud to welcome a fantastic range of hobby retailers to IronSkull 2025, offering everything from brushes and paints to sculpting tools, models, and more. Attendees had the chance to meet the brands, chat with creators, and discover new products to fuel their next project.
